THE TREES

An environmentally friendly alternative to the traditional Christmas tree, an Eco Christmas Tree is for anyone looking to have less impact on the planet this festive season and in years to come.

The branches of each tree are handcrafted from sustainably sourced hazel coppice which is cut as part of traditional woodland management – so no trees are harmed in the making of each Eco Christmas Tree!

The log bases houses a stable central pole for the branches to slot onto. The branches can be arranged in any formation, giving you ultimate creative control over the shape and design of your tree.

As each Eco Christmas Tree is made from natural untreated products, there will be slight variations in colour, shape and size – each tree is completely unique!

All the components of the tree are packed in a sturdy recycled cardboard box, held together with recyclable brown paper tape. The box can be used for storage purposes and even the larger sizes can be packed neatly away in a cupboard or eaves/loft space.

THE PEOPLE

Eco Christmas Tree is a Norfolk based collaboration which began life in 2019 when Laura van Ree went searching for something a bit different under which to put her daughter’s presents. Laura wanted a tree she could use year on year which wouldn’t eventually end up in landfill. She wanted to bring nature indoors without cutting down an actual tree just for the festivities. She wanted something beautiful and built to last. She didn’t find anything suitable, so she set about making it herself.

Bobby Spooner came on board to help make Eco Christmas Trees in 2022. Bobby is a coppice worker, green woodworker and teacher. He helps to manage woodlands in a sustainable way and uses wood to create functional and beautiful products by hand. Bobby also runs workshops and experiences to share the benefits of his craft: both for the environment and our own wellbeing.

A gorgeous alternative to a real or plastic tree. Took seconds to put up and looks fantastic. Ours is a two foot one and is great as a table top tree.
